NSS activity help to develop team work, social activity, discipline, time management among student. NSS activity play an important role to shape the overall personality development of students. Our college is having one NSS unit and total 50 students have enrolled for academic year 2019-20 out of which 43 volunteers are male and 07 volunteers are female.
Following programs were undertaken by our NSS Unit during the year:
- NSS Unit organized one residential camp from 21 st Dec-2019 to 27 th Dec- 2019 at Siddharth College of Commerce, Boradpada Village, Badlapur West, Distt – Thane, Mumbai 421501. Total 16 NSS Volunteers participated in NSS Camp for 7 days from 24 th Dec-2018 to 30 th Dec-2018 out of that 13 male and 03 female. NSS volunteer conducted rally in Boradpada village, Badlapur West to create awareness among local people for save energy and Health & hygiene.
- NSS Volunteers also participated in Swachchh bharat abhiyan and conducted cleaning work at college campus and camp site. College NSS Dept celebtrated Gandhi Jayanti in the Memory of Mahatma Gandhi and our college NSS volunteers also participated in Bhajan Sandhya Program at CST Gatewauy of India which was organized by NSS Cell University of Mumbai.
- NSS unit celebrated International yoga day on 21 st June -2019 and invited resources person Charulata , and Vijayalaxmi ( Bramhakumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya , Mulund West ) to deliver the speech on importance of yoga in our daily life for improving of immunity power.
- College NSS department celebrated NSS day on 24 th Sept-2019. Total 109 students had participated.
- College NSS unit invited resources person Mr. Mukund Deshpande from N.G. Acharya & D.K. Marathe College – Chembur to deliver a motivational speech to our students.
- NSS dept conducted eye check camp in college and invited V. A. Mayekar optician PVT. Ltd, (Mulund -West) on 26 th Sept 2019. Total 116 students of our college had done the eye test.
- College NSS dept. celebrated Indian Constitution Day on 26 th Nov- 2019 and invited resource person Dr. Mandar Thakur (HOD. Adarsh College of Commerce, Badlapur – East) to deliver lecture on the importance of constitution, civil and fundamental right of us.
- College NSS unit organized Anemia test as on 16-12-2019 from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Total 80 students and 10 teaching staff had got the test done. Mr. Belvalkar from Wamnrao Oak blood bank Thane, guided students to have a good diet & exercise to avoid problem of anemia.
- NSS Volunteers prepared poster related to save energy and health & hygiene and displayed in college campus to create awareness among student about save energy.
- NSS Volunteer also play important role for organizing and participating college sport and cultural week.
At NSS residential Camp, participant volunteers conducted swachchh bharat abhiyan in Boradpada Village and Cleaned the village road and cut the grass from road side, removed the garbage (waste) from residential area. NSS participant volunteers also took up gardening work in Siddharth College ground and Boradpada Village and also conducted tree plantation. NSS Volunteers visited in Adiwasi area and donated old cloth to poor people. NSS volunteer also organized cultural activity in Boradpada village in which primary and secondary school student had participated in activity. NSS unit conducted a program on Blind Faith eradication (Andhshraddha Nirmoolan) and had invited resources person Mrs. Kishori Garud that program help to remove superstition among the people.
